Pet Policy

  • An animal agreement must be signed and filed with the leasing office before bringing a pet or service animal into the apartment home.
  • Your pet(s) and/or service animal(s) must have current rabies shots and licenses required by law.
  • Pet deposits, pet fees, and pet rent do not apply to qualified service or assistance animals.
  • A pet deposit of $200.00, as well as a non-refundable pet fee of $200.00, is due per pet before bringing an animal into the apartment home. There is a monthly $20.00 charge due for pet rent.
  • The number of pets is limited to three (3) per apartment.
  • Puppies (less than one year old) are not allowed.
  • The following breeds of dogs, including any mix, are not accepted: Pit bull, German Shepherd, Doberman, Rottweiler, Chow, Boxer, Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, Dalmatian, Fila Brasileira, and Presa Canario.
  • Pets and service animals must always be kept on a leash and under the control of the animal owner.
  • Pets and service animals must use the designated pet stations for defecation. It is the owner’s responsibility to remove any waste left by the pet immediately. A $50.00 charge will be assessed to the pet owner or service animal owner who does not immediately remove the animal's waste.
  • Under no conditions will an animal be permitted in the pool.
  • At no time will a pet or service animal be staked, tied, or left unattended outside the apartment. This includes the patio, balcony, or any other common area.
  • Pet sitting, even for one day, is not allowed.
  • A pet interview may be required.
  • Pet and animal owners will not allow their pet to make noise or disturb the rights and comforts of other residents.
  • An animal may be removed if it poses a direct threat to others, causes substantial property damage, is not under control, or the handler does not take effective action.

Misrepresentation
Mackenzie Pointe Apartments is committed to complying with the Fair Housing Act and all applicable state and local laws regarding service animals and assistance animals. We recognize the rights of individuals with disabilities to have equal access to housing accommodations.

  • Knowingly misrepresenting a pet as a service or assistance animal may violate state law and lease terms.

All stipulations of the animal agreement will be strictly enforced. If unauthorized pets are found in your apartment, an initial fee of $100.00 will be charged, and an additional fee of $10.00 per day will be charged until the proper deposit and fee are paid and the paperwork is completed.
